How to become a member of Al-Anon
If you have a loved one with a drinking problem, or grew up in an alcoholic home, the best thing you can do for yourself and/or your loved ones is to attend an Al-anon meeting. If you have access to the internet, go to the Al-Anon web site where listings of local (state) Al-Anon offices are available throughout the US and Canada. If you do not have access to the internet, call Al-anon at 1-888-4AL-ANON (1-888-425-2666). It is recommended by Al-anon that you attend three different meetings before you decide if Al-anon is for your or not. As you will hear at the meetings, keep attending the meetings. At some point, you will hear something that touches you and helps. Get some of the Al-Anon conference approved literature (CAN) which you can purchase at a meeting, or online at Al Anon's web site, and read every day. There are a number of daily readers that will help you keep your mind focused every day.
