For those of us who are living with addiction, sobriety may be a word we don’t think will ever apply to us. Our addiction has wrapped around our brains and the only escape is death. This is not true. Anyone with any drug addiction CAN achieve sobriety if they get the right kind of treatment and have a little faith. “We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.” C. Malesherbes The truth is, sobriety is not impossible, and it doesn’t matter if you’ve been a heroin junkie for 10 years or an alcoholic for 25. You can quit. And the sooner you do seek help, the sooner you can start living the life you’ve been missing out on all these years.

Are You Ready for Sobriety?

Sobriety takes time and dedicated, but it will come in good time. Getting established with good health care is a big part of recovery. Having a rehab facility equipped with people who understand your addiction and know how to treat it will make a big difference. How you respond to therapy and how you continue to get treatment, even after years of being sober will determine how well you succeed. Addiction is a life-long battle. 5 years sober is a big milestone, but in a short matter of time, it can all crumble down. Don’t think of sobriety as impossible; think of it as a challenge. Take the challenge and make the best of it. The only thing you have to lose if you don’t…is your life.
