Patient Kicks Doctor in the Chest While Giving Medical History

The 41-year-old man accused of kicking his doctor in the chest at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center was arrested for battery.   According to nwfdailynews.com , the doctor claimed he had been taking a medical history when the patient became agitated.  The doctor was trying to determine if the man ended up in the hospital each month for the same complaints.  (I would assume these questions will become more and more routine, as we try to crack down on prescription drug abuse and doctor shopping.)  The doctor claims he advised the patient against taking opiates, when the man replied, “Watch me.”  Then, he threatened the doctor, subsequently kicking him in the chest.  The man claims he had fallen asleep, when the doctor came in accusing him of several wrongdoings and taunting to “get him in trouble.”  The attacker said he “got fed up,” and kicked the doctor.
